Pre-release Snippets & progress report [Mar. 17th, 2011|10:40 pm]

Several new snippets went up this week (and more will come) before the actual US release date for Kings of the North next Tuesday, March 22.   They include viewpoint sections for the Count of Andressat,  Sergeant Stammel,  Arcolin, and Aliam Halveric.    Those who hate even the mildest spoilers will avoid them, but for the curious, take a look at the Paksworld blog.

Kings has already made its way into the hands of a few readers in Sweden and The Netherlands...US and UK readers are still haunting their bookstores.   The next book, Crisis of Vision, has now passed into the hands of Production and is headed to a copy-editor.   And Book IV, not yet titled, is over halfway through its first draft.

Kings of the North

My kindle copy is pre-ordered. :)

I am delighted to hear about the progress with Crisis of Vision and 'Book IV'. Love your books. Love Paksworld.

Thank you!

I am planning to buy my copy on Tuesday (I'm actually mapping the book stores in the driving path I'll be taking). It has to be a bit confusing with Oath coming out in PB, Kings in HB, Crisis in Production and IV in Creation mode. I am looking forward to reading Kings and seeing where the story goes next (esp. after reading your snippets and writing life posts). Thank you for sharing your world.

I like the way you do the snippets so that people can read the spoilers or not without missing anything else. And I like the way you have the background (reading your comments where you explain things which aren't explicitly in the books). I find that most of the books I like are ones where the author knows a lot more about the world than will ever get into the books, the books are a window onto it.

Next week, with luck...

I just received "Kings of the North" here in the UK, from Amazon UK this morning (21 March -- Amazon UK are still listing it as publication date 24 March from Orbit; Amazon are weird).

So that will be next on my reading list after my current bedtime book.

Amazon tells me my copy is in the post. It didn't come in today's post, but I am hopeful for tomorrow....
