[Current Mood |tired]

One of the guests, Jim Attwood,  took pictures of our Thanksgiving celebration (but none of the knitters or fencers in action, or at least none that got on the website and not quite all the guests.)    There's no picture of us all toasting Anne McCaffrey's life and influence, alas.   Still tired (lots of cleanup today) and it's late, so more on the whole thing later.

Discovered this morning...this lovely rose blooming...

It's a Madame Alfred Carriere, from the Antique Rose Emporium, planted last spring as a replacement for one that died (very weird winter and freak winter storm that killed a lot of their roses, too.)   It survived the summer, and greeted the (finally) cool air of late fall with three roses in the last week and a half.

Lovely photos of the groaning board, and happy people.

Good to see you're doing well! :)

Thanks. The people who built that house decided to retire to a senior community with a golf course, and my mother bought it--that's when we discovered that this back room was perfect for big dinners. It's an add-on to the original house. Unfortunately, the room is up two steps from the yard and down two steps from the rest of the house, where the loo is. The front of the house is also two steps up (the lot slopes) and doorways are too narrow for most wheelchairs/scooters, etc. This makes it very difficult for friends with mobility problems.

Are those the new table and chairs. They have had a lovely looking T-day baptism.

New chairs, yes. Combined with a few of the old ones still in good shape (the ones with the fancier backs. The ones with the straight up-and-down slats in back are the new ones. The pale ones are the kitchen chairs; the others will live with the new table when it comes. )

Not new table, though. It should come sometime in December or early January. See the previous post (http://e-moon60.livejournal.com/430954.html) for a picture of the oldest of the tables under the blue cloth being repaired. Next year we'll have both chairs AND a new table, YAY!
