Shattered-Shields-cover

This military fantasy anthology can be pre-ordered now, and ships on November 4; the e-ARC has been out awhile.

Good reading for those who like epic and/or military fantasy (and for crossover fans of military SF, too.)   And yes, I have a story in it, so yes, this is a moment of bragging.  For those who read the Paksenarrion-universe books, my story is set in the same time period as Crown of Renewal, the book that came out in May of this year.

No spoilers here, but I think you'll like a lot of the stories in this volume.  More info at http://www.baenebooks.com/p-2502-shattered-shields-earc.aspx

Interesting: I bought the regular ebook from B&N on the 18th. Currently reading it, actually; have not got to the Paksworld story quite yet.

I don't always get the word on which version is out when. Glad you've got it, though.

It was just a bit tricky working this story out, because at the time it was written, I didn't know the release date for the anthology or _Crown of Renewal_...and I had to avoid spoilering the one that came out second. That meant finding a character, location, and action that would fit in with, but not too directly connect to, the book.

Ugh. You're just trying to make me build a book shelf just for you. After my son moves out, his room is getting converted to a library. 9' tall book cases from wall to wall, leather reading chair, etc, etc. What can I say? My childhood dreams were pretty bookish. lol

That's what I was going to do when our son moved out, except the dream included the drafting table that's now in there. Unfortuntely, the great cleanout hasn't happened yet, so the leather reading chair's in the living room, behind the piano, and I knit in it. I read in bed. In bad light.

It's available for download from Amazon UK - I just have. And I have spent ALL THE MONEY on books this week and was just telling myself I couldn't buy any more this month. Oh well.....

I have a note in my calendar to go pick it up on the 4th. It may take me awhile to read it since my "to read" pile is pretty scary and some of them are library books that are due soon.
