A grim day in the old writing world...favorite character in danger of death, the whole chapter a frantic effort to save him (without intruding any 20th-21st century techniques...I keep mentally reaching for the right stuff.) And Arcolin's having to leave him in the care of others. At this point I don't know if he'll die, live with severe disabilities, or come out OK.
