Rain, they said.  High probability of rain, they said.  Given our drought situation (rated "extreme") rain was certainly a welcome forecast.

What we have is a minor ice storm. 

Pretty, but  not what I wanted.   Nor what the land needed.

On the feeding areas right now: white-winged doves, goldfinch, house sparrow, blue jay.  A dove just armpitted a blue jay and the jay said something rude and the dove flew off.

You probably don't want to hear that we got some rain here in the desert city of Tucson, yesterday and this morning. After a week of sun, it's been cloudy. I even saw some snow up near the summits of peaks on the Rincons to the east of us.

Just out of curiosity, what is it to "armpit" someone? Avian or otherwise?
