I posted about a white-linked sphinx moth nectaring on wild plum here. These are the best pictures I've taken of a sphinx moth.
The few days that the Mexican plums are blooming, you could go crazy with the wild, intoxicating fragrance of them. This year it's hot and dry, and some years it's cold when they bloom...but they're tough natives that "put out" no matter what.
