Hating Daylight Savings Time

I hate everything about it, including its lying name.  (It doesn't "save" any daylight...it merely shifts around the whether you get any morning daylight before work or not.)

I live in a hot, dry part of the country.   It's already hotter and dryer than it has been  and it's going to get worse.   Lengthening the clock time of the hottest part of the day, in summer, is not a great idea.    Taking away useful hours of cooler morning time is not a great idea.  In fact, it's a lousy idea all around.  If it ever had a real justification, fifty or sixty or however-many years ago, it doesn't now.

Making more of the year DST time is worse, and especially this year because it's starting on my birthday weekend.   It will be psychologically 5 am when I'm supposed to get up to go to early service Sunday morning.  That definitely proves it's Lent, I can tell you that!!!   I hate staying up late (and it feels like "late" to me all the year until non-DST comes around again.

Hate, hate, HATE Daylight Savings Time.

By the way, this is a rant and rant-rules apply.  Don't try to talk me out of hating DST or tell me why you like it.
