Challenge, Part Two

This is another image cropped from a large image of the same object somewhere in our solar system, this time given a different false-color treatment to provide different information (and disinformation.)    Once more: where do you think it is, and what processes, geological, biological, chemical, etc., do you think formed this topography?

Doggone it!

Part one of the challenge didn't post!  I thought it had.  I thought I saw it after it did!  Grrrrrrr!!!!!   Will have to do it again.

Challenge, Part One (3rd try!!!)

The image below is from somewhere in our solar system.   It is cropped from a larger image.  It has had its color messed with both to reveal detail and to obscure the original color (which may not have been accurate anyway--you know how these remote sensing things work.)

Where do you think it is?   What processes (geological, biological, chemical, other) formed its topography?  The best answer (my judgment) will get "something"  as a prize.  Correct would be great, but imaginative and thoughtful get points too.

The Challenge Thing

I' m going to wait awhile so lots of people (if they wish) can play around with the images and share what they think before awarding any prize or giving any answers.

Only one person so far has suggested both a location and a process.  Come on, folks....this is science (or fiction, depending on how fictional you think the colors are.)
