80 acres: new species

Yesterday afternoon I was walking back from Owl Pavilion, still in the NW meadow, when I spotted something tiny, black-and-white, flittering near my feet.

This little moth would fit on my thumbnail.  The black areas are iridescent in full sun, as here--hints of blue, purple, and green.  The white markings are bright white.  It's called Mournful Thyris (Pseudothyris sepulchralis)  but I don't see anything mournful about it.  Clownish, in fact.  I can see it as a masked reveler at Carnival.
