I didn't like the ads either, and suspect them of being malware-heavy. However, it made Editor happy that I went there, and a happy Editor makes a relieved Author.

I wasn't offended, just pointing out a practical reason for ignoring something I wouldn't otherwise ignore.

On my own I avoid sites like that, but...some factors change priorities.
