Out of curiosity, have you met or been to a lecture by Temple Grandin?

No, but I've read her books and will be going to a screening of the new HBO movie about her in a couple of weeks. She's due to be at the reception before the movie.

I recently found several videos of her lectures on YouTube and found them extremely interesting. I could listen to her talk all day, even about the cattle industry. Here is one where she discusses living with Autism. Many of her suggestions I think are applicable to anyone working with kids, not just autistic children. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wt1IY3ffoU&feature=related
She has become one of my heros. She has such insight into all animals, even the human animal.
