Writer's Block: A rose by any other name ...

How did you choose your LiveJournal username? Is there an interesting story behind it?

I wanted to use my own name, but--being on dial-up at the time with a slow and sometimes wonky connection--could never get LJ to accept the complete registration, but apparently it was sidetracking whatever name I tried with, starting with my full name.    So when the attempt to join/register failed, and I tried again, my name was suddenly "unavailable."   This happened repeatedly with variations, until I finally made it with the one I'm using.

Very, very frustrating to have the name I wanted "available" on the first try and then not available a few minutes later.
