  • 00:51:32: Have you ever heard a whale, ConneryBeagle? The only ones I've heard made sounds like a squeaky toy.

WA government page with some other examples.
There are several projects to collect and track the songs of different whales as they migrate - googling will get you pages of reference :P

Actually yes, because the whales I heard (live, not recorded) were belugas, in Hudson's Bay, and they whistle and squeak. I've heard the other whale songs via recording, but I was also playing with ConneryBeagle.

I think His Beagleness may be referring to the sound whales make when breathing, not singing. We've heard spouting whales in the Gulf of Maine, and some of them sound like the Big White Horse snorting.

True. The belugas made a "whuff!" sound, too. But I was playing with His Beagleness...the thought of Connery with belugas...Beagle-Beluga...oh, never mind. I guess it was too individual.

Heh! But yeah, that was sort of my vision. I wonder if there's a tourist shop in Canada that has squeaky-toy belugas...probably none would be safe for His Beagleness, but I'd love to see it.
