[Current Mood |awake]

Only rain while driving M- to the bus station--this is good.  Forecast for tonight is rain mixed with snow.  Not so good.   Gray, cold, and wet outside.

Preparing for ConDFW...the washing, the drying, the deciding what to take/wear, on the basis of weather predictions for both locations tomorrow and Monday, and the DFW area alone for Sat & Sun.   This being Texas in February,  either location can vary by 50 degrees in less than 12 hours, with precip ranging from none to a) torrential rain, b) freezing rain, c) sleet, d) snow, etc.   Layers upon layers, but not *bulky* layers.

Today is also print-out day for a chapter and some business cards.   What I really want to do, of course, is burrow back under the covers and hibernate until the sun comes out.

They are forcasting 5+" of snow tonight in DFW (over 6" up by me). Drive carefully out there.

I won't be driving. I'm taking the train up tomorrow and friends will pick me up.

Good to hear. DFW has 4" on the ground in most parts already. Again, stay safe and enjoy the con!

Well, if there's enough snow, and it lasts long enough, the train might have problems...but it doesn't leave Temple (where I will catch it) until 11:25 am, or reach Dallas until 3:20 pm, so presumably the warm sun that's supposed to follow this will melt it away by then.

Looking at the news reports about situation in air travel--delays related to the big blizzard in the east that have propagated to other areas--I still think the train is a better way to go.

It will be warm in the hotel. I may miss Friday to avoid driving home on ice, but I'm staying in a friend's room Saturday night. :-)

You _should_ be okay, depending on when your train leaves.

We've been watching it snow here in Denton since 4:45 this morning; it's really coming down! I hope the rabbit in our backyard has had the sense to go down his burrow...

I'm up on the north side of Denton--howdy! We've got 5" on the ground here and you're right, it's just coming down like mad out there.

I was going to offer virtual sun and warm ...

but then it occurred to me - you NEED wet cold and grey, just as much as we do, or your prairies will wither and your wildlife will go away :)

Weather is always good for a good solid whinge :)

Take care and have fun at the con.
