This was supposed to have been the larger version of a green anole hunting insects on waterlily pads in the pond, but the larger version wouldn't upload...so here's the small version.   It was, after all, a small lizard.

I do love anole lizards. I had one, in the throes of Manly Mating Season, rear up and do the Manly Pushups of Awesomeness at me while Puffing His Throat Sac at me in yet another display of Manly Manliness. It was hilarious.

Oh, yes...there's a sapling outside my window that seems to be a favorite site for the Manly Pushups of Awesomeness.

Having seen this many times when I was growing up, I had to smile at the mental picture - love the description!

I had one as a pet when i was a kid. Caught him at my grandmothers house, and let him go 7 months later at her house.

That *looks* like A. carolinensis, but I thought you were out of that species' range? What's the locality?

Central Texas. They're abundant and reported as such in (for instance) Kutac and Coran's _Birds and Other Wildlife of South Central Texas_. Where are you?

I'm in North Carolina. For some reason I thought you were considerably north of where you are. In that case, definitely A. carolinensis.
