Worthy Cause: Robin McKinley's auction in aid of bells [Sep. 27th, 2011|11:23 pm]
[Current Mood |awake]

The extremely talented Robin McKinley (yes, THAT Robin McKinley) is helping along the bell restoration fund at the tower where she rings (yes,  she rings big bells for fun).   Go quickly (before it's over, which is October 9) to her website and bid on books, including you-can't-find-these-easily-because-they're-out-of-print editions, all signed of course.   And buy doodles.  She does amazingly cute doodles.  Go look, agree, and snatch one up.

http://robinmckinleysblog.com/bells/  has the info and links to more info.  Here's a link to the FAQ for the auction:

http://robinmckinleysblog.com/auction-faq/   This will save Blogmom (who's dong the heavy organizational lifting) from having to answer the same questions eighty-bazumthing times.

Yes! The bells that need restoration are in her "home tower" where she rings every week, and she writes about her adventures in ringing on her blog. (Towers where she rings are given "blog names" to protect the innocent--or guilty.)

Check out her website & blog, and see if the books up for auction include any of the ones you want.

She's very aware that many fans would like more Damar books but she writes the stories that present themselves. To save her time and temper, and you time, here's her answer to "When will you write another Damar book?"

The website itself, http://www.robinmckinley.com/ has lots of good info. Do read all the FAQ first, before you query her directly.

The blog is a lot of fun, and is my usual "just before bed" reading.
