Who introduced you to LiveJournal? Why did you first open an account or get involved?
A friend in another online venue posted the URL of someone's LiveJournal, and I went to look at it. Several more people I knew got LiveJournal accounts as well. After talking to various friends online and also people at conventions, I decided that a LiveJournal account would be a good idea....it took over a year to get one, though, because of software problems--my attempts would lock up partway through and not complete them transaction. Finally made it last year.
